J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa
J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa
The U.S. government sincerely welcomes foreign citizens to participate in exchange visit programs in the United States. Applicants must first be admitted to a formal program sponsor in the United States before they can apply for an exchange visitor visa. Once admitted, the U.S. educational institution or program sponsor will provide the applicant with the approval documents needed to apply for a visa. The J visa corresponding to the Exchange Visitor Program is designed to promote the exchange of knowledge and skills among people in the fields of education, art, and science.
